Last night we saw the Tampa Bay Lightning play the 1-3-1 trap, clogging the neutral zone and the Philadelphia Flyers responded by not attacking, sitting back in their own zone, waiting for the Lightning to forecheck. This caused debates around the internet and on TSN. It happened many times throughout the game and the referees told the Flyers they had to keep moving the puck. It frustrated players and coaches of both teams, analysts and fans.

So which team is at fault, if one is:
I was cracking up during the first period. It’s like “if you don’t mind waiting, we don’t either.”
What an unbelievable thing to happen. I couldn’t believe it when my buddy told me what had happened. I thought it would just be for a few seconds but it was legitimately a stand. Incredibly gutsy on the part of Laviolette, except I’m not sure on the rules with the refs blowing the play dead with the Flyers seemingly doing nothing wrong. I would have never thought in a 1000 years someone would do this, especially at an opposing teams rink. Crazy stuff from Laviolette. Also, you think you could check out my blog cuz I’d love to hear what you have to say http://chrisross91.wordpress.com/2011/11/11/peter-laviolette-the-brave/
I think that’s part of Lavy’s plan, do it at their rink. Then their fans get restless and TB feels the need to cave into the pressure.
